***COVID-19 Church Updates***
Sunday, March 15th, 2020
The Church Council, staff, and Maple Fest coordinators had a conference call today discussing plans for the church during this COVID pandemic. Here is what we decided:
The church will be closed from now through Tuesday, March 31. Our staff, our organ repair folks (Bill Czelusniak and Co.), and the Food Pantry organizers will continue to use the building, but there will be no organized meetings or worship services held at the church during this time period. The church leadership will reassess our plans Sunday, March 29, and determine how we go forward. The Food Pantry will be distributing food differently to the clients, with caution and personal safety in mind, but food will be distributed.
That means that our March 21st Maple Fest is cancelled. The Pancake Breakfast and Amazing Drawing will be held at a later date. Much, much thanks to those who have been organizing this event, especially George Butler and Annie Cheatham.
Also, the musical at Mohawk, directed by Amy Roberts-Crawford - with Octavia one of the performers - is cancelled (was March 20, 21).
There will be no Worship Service at the Church Sunday March 22.
And there will be no Worship Service at the church Sunday March 29.
We will continue to send out virtual church bulletins via email and possibly connect with audio and video via Zoom. More to come.
Our hope is to resume worship on Palm Sunday, April 5, but it is too soon to decide that now.
Tues. March 17 Bubble Up will be held via conference call. Bruce Bennett to organize.
Thurs. March 26th Ladies Lunch is cancelled.
The Fri. March 27th “Music of Epirus” concert with Lysander Jaffee is cancelled, with hopes to reschedule it in the future.
Prayers from the People:
From Caroline Mack:
Prayers for Caroline & Richie and Sebastian: safe travels as C & R drive to Providence and back to pick up Grandson Sebastian whose school is closing. Sebastian might be with us until September!
Prayers for all of us: May we all feel the love that we feel when we are in the sanctuary together. I am grateful for my church family.
If you’d like to have a prayer listed, please send me (Wendy Pree) the information. It would be great to have prayers of the people included in these church emails.
